Spinnin’ Records is arguably one of, if not the, biggest Dance Music labels right now. They’ve released everything from the Beatport #1 track “Tsunami” by Borgeous and DVBBS to the beachy, groovy vibes of Eelke Kleijn’s “Stand Up”.Their catalogue is something to behold and they have something for just about every electronic music fan. That catalogue will now be available anytime, anywhere thanks to their new Spotify app, which increases the convenience to listening to their music tenfold. It would be interesting to hear Spinnin’s argument as to why they’ve expanded into Spotify at a time when many artists have complained over the paltry amounts (we’re talking cents on the dollar) they get paid for plays in comparison to more traditional networks. Furthermore, Spinnin’ has pursued a YouTube focused strategy for all it’s playback material, allowing them to sell ads against their music and this could potentially compete with the existing strategy. Anyway, business aside, everyone should be happy because now they’re going to be able to listen to all their favorite Spinnin’ music in one convenient place.
